Svidy launched in the recruiting and consulting space in 2024 to meet the unique needs of start-up founders across all verticals. Our team understands the pressures of trying to carve out a growing business before reaching the end of an ever-shortening runway. The Svidy team knows that for founders, there is no such thing as a “normal” problem. When standard operating procedures have yet to be developed for your business you need a flexible and creative team on your side like ours.

It is not just our experience in the start-up space that gives our clients an unfair advantage over their peers. The ability to not only successfully navigate complex environments but thrive in them is in the DNA of our company. Literally.

In 1924, our founder Krisztina Veres’ grandmother Anna Sviderszki was born in Tolcsva, Hungary. The country was under communist rule and would remain so for another 65 years. Anna’s family were fiercely patriotic Hungarians, who believed in helping their neighbors when they could and creating strong communities. She took that philosophy into her marriage and taught it to her children and grandchildren.

Svidy references Anna’s surname because throughout her life she was faced with what looked to be insurmountable challenges. She wanted to go to school and work when the vast majority of women at that time did not work outside the home in Hungary. The rural areas where Anna grew up and loved were struggling as a result of demographic shifts to the city. Finally, there was a difficult tension between the tenets of Communism and her deep Hungarian patriotism. A tension that could have resulted in her family falling into dire economic straits (or worse).

Anna Sviderszki did not let the challenges of the day define her. Instead, she adopted a relentless optimism, unparalleled work ethic, and the core spirit of Hungarians who always find creative solutions in difficult circumstances. It is easy to see how Anna had a generational impact on her granddaughter and our founder Krisztina Veres’ who carries on that tradition today where she helps founders create something from nothing.
